Captain's Pizza - Rhinebeck, NY

Captain's Pizza is a place my mouth gladly frequents often. The staff all have a wonderful sense of humor and the za venue gives off a very welcoming vibe. The location serves works well as a pick-up-and-scoot kinda place or as a sit-and-relax spot depending on how intimate you want to get with your sexy slices. This brings me to the grand issue at hand, the pizza.

As you see here, I have little self control when it comes to these gourmet sex triangles. At first bite, you will pick up what I would say is a very genuine ratio of sauce, cheese, and dough. If you choose to sit in and eat, the slices will be just warm enough to not burn your mouth, but hot enough that if you take many pictures, a video or two, or write a blog post, that it will still be a tantalizing for your taste buds and thermostatic receptors.

As far as the crust goes, you can expect a satisfying crunch to eat bite. The sauce allows itself to be just enough to enjoy without making you look like a tomato cannibal. The cheese on the other hand could have a little more kick to it, but that being said it is still rather yummy. The price is very fair compared to the otherwise expensive nature of the town; I find that $7 gets a hungry (and often times nonsober) 6' dude very satisfied. The presentation of the pizza is pleasurable to my peepers, at least, but you can be the judge on that.

I award Captain's Pizza a score of 8 out of 10 and am willing to risk my reputation saying it is the best pizza in Rhinebeck (I've had over 500 slices locally from all known za slingers). I would recommend the regular cheese, the white slices, and garlic knots if you're not feeling cheesy or saucy. For you carnivorous cats; I've been told the Chicken BBQ pizza gets people going especially if you like spice.

Breakdown
3 points for the crust.
2.5 points for the sauce.
1.5 points for the cheese.
1 point for overall atmosphere, affordability, and presentation.
